JCPenney has made the difficult decision to close 154 stores and their store location at Inland Center Mall is one of them. The location was forced to close back in March after being deemed a nonessential business according to California Governor Gavin Newsom's executive order. JCPenney filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on May 15 as the impact of COVID-19 hit the retailer market hard. The store closing sale is expected to began June 12 with no final date for the store actually closing.
